Congratulatons Chessie!
Winner of trial race #1 in the Los Alamitos Wiener Nationals

On Saturday July 19th, 2008 at Los Alamitos Race Course.
For her effort, she won $100, a beautiful finalist trophy & a hot dog.
Chessie, one of the top 10 dogs out of 87 Dachshunds that raced that evening.
Way to go Chesnutt, Mama and Grandma are so proud of you.
If you've never seen Dachshunds race, check it out on YouTube. It's ear-flopping fun. Chessie ran 50 yards in 8 seconds...that's a whopping 21 miles per hour.
The Doxie's ran on the dirt horse race track. The night had all the excitement, alternating horse races with Doxie races.
The purpose for this fun event was to raise funds for the Seal Beach Animal Care Center.

There is sawdust on the floor, creating a friendly and cozy environment full of charm. We have a full bar to serve up your favorite spirits. For an after dinner treat, try our house coffee, the Backwoods Coffee. It's a cocoa coffee blend with Amaretto, whipped cream & spices. Tastes like an adult hot chocolate. It is sure to take the chill off winter evenings.
